My work life to date
I’ve worked on ERP and system integrations for over 20 years.
Beginning my career as a Human Resources Manager, with Chartered MCIPD status, I changed career path in 1999 to join Oracle in the UK as a ‘functional consultant’, specializing in Oracle HRMS.
Eager to know more about how the application and database worked I spent time learning pl/sql and some Unix in order to move into a more technical role, and within a few years was appointed integration lead within the Oracle technical practice tasked with delivering the world’s first Oracle Internet Procurement to SAP R/3 integration for a large bank.
I’ve written and delivered training courses in Oracle Applications InterConnect and was offered a Product Manager role in Redwood Shores for its integration software, but had to turn it down (thanks dot com bubble!), leaving Oracle in 2003 to join EDS.
At EDS I led an integration team for a major MOD project (JPA) and following that success then moved to the Atlas Consortium to broaden my integration product experience with Tibco BusinessWorks.
When I left EDS and joined Fujitsu’s Oracle Practice in 2008 I was again tasked to lead integration teams for many projects.
I’ve mainly integrated Oracle eBusiness Suite, via Oracle middleware, to 3rd party systems, but I’m now having fun with Oracle Cloud Applications (HCM/Finance), and integrating it to various systems with OIC v22.
